when i first came to Shrewsbury i went to the writers group in the library it was very interesting on a Tuesday evening and then enjoyed the choir so started going to that instead. The Writers group is run by Jo who is a library assistant and has written several biographies. Evidently you can write anyones biography without their permission! he has done lots of rock stars. Every week they had talks and Stephen Palmer who is a science fiction writer lives in Shrewsbury would give us a lesson and tips, you didnt have to be a super duper writer, just a bit of poetry like me, there were several of us, budding authors and those who had worked for the BBC as comedy writers and script writers were there sometimes too it was very interesting, perhaps we should go one da y when we can…i enjoyed it….
The choir at Shire Hall is good it is uplifting and with good spirit, i love it, since the virus situation we have met in a field oposite the Shire Hall, in a field with four cows and some cow patts! oh really! is this what salopians do then, in their spare time! the cows are very funny they took one look and listening stood in the middle and then went to the next field. It was raining too! oh joy to be in the countryside …eh! hmmmm The last remnants of countryside i should say, where are the hobbits? they are hiding behing the conifers at the bottom of my garden i think. i sure i saw one peep out at me yesterday, or was that just a nosey neighbour?
Shrewsbury is full of delights, tall conifers that people dont really like because they are too tall, there is so much rain, well what do they expect! Even the bushes in the gardens are like spaceship size! what the heck! Rain from heaven or rain form Wales!
