Christmas Tree Ditty
Oh Christmas tree you were so very small
My Southend neighbour gave you to me
I set you outside by my hall
With twinkly lights
And a little star
You looked so cute
Sitting there in the cold
For all the hoypaloy to behold
Then when Christmas time was over
No I didn’t put you in the bin!
You see
Little Christmas tree
You life had just begun
I took you in to nuture
A bigger tree to be for the future
I found a bigger pot
And a nice sunny spot
In my garden here in Shrew
And watered you
And watched you grow
So a tree for Christmas this year you can be
Doubled in size for all too see
You may not be the biggest one
But for Christmas you will bring some fun
I’ll get some mini baubles and a star
And you will be the best Christmas Tree by far
