Today I looked round Bear Steps Gallery Shrewbury. It is an old Tudor building, see pix of model of it below, also inside. It has been many things over the years including being an abode and factory . It’s now an art gallery for local artists to display their work. It is called Bear Steps as in Tudor times they did Bear bating in the pub opposite
Bear Steps
I wonder if a ghost
Is now the host
Of this Tudor house of old
So many stories to be told
From hence this house was built
Albeit on a tilt
The beams all skewif
And damp timber what a whiff
Many folks have passed on through
To do what they have to do
Each generation has a time
To fill this place with ryme
All the planks do creak
And the ceilings low
You will bump your head
And your brain will glow
and this history of house
though quiet as a mouse
ebbs its way through with a spirit
and a certain sense of “who done it!”
tales of past
ghosts
haunts
laughter
lies
sadness
and more
you will find the memories of these
as you enter through the door!
