A Christmas Song

A little Robin sat on the fence

He sang with festive cheer

The snow was falling all around

It glittered every where

The Angel from the heavens above

Looked down on everyone

Advent had just begun

Magical thoughts

And gifts aplenty abound

You could hear the sound

Of sleigh bells

Was on his way

The elves are wrapping gifts still

It’s a busy time

Children being so good

To get their presents

Christmas cake

And Christmas pud

It is all so pleasant warm and good

Nativity plays

Christmas trees

Wreaths and decorations

Carols sung

Deck the halls with holly

Be jolly!

It’s a lovely time  to be sure

Christmas time once more

People are cheery

Not so weary

Smiles on every face

Good will to all mankind I say

Not just for a Christmas face

Every day

Let this feeling preside

Far and wide

All the year you hear!

Not just on this Yule Tide Day!

I became interested in poetry about a year ago and try to write about things from my heart that are associated with events in my life or events going on in the World at large or closer to home. I am a visual artist and still am to a certain extent having exhibited some of my work as a visually impaired artist using sponges to paint. I have lost most of my eyesight in recent years to advanced glaucoma and my vision is now very limited I am finding my creativity now evolving in writing poetry and hope to publish my own book of verse in the future. I have a blog page on Wordpress where I share my poetry, art, photography, thoughts and favourite quotes and prayers at https://rosypoems.com
