Chinese whispers

Saturdays ditty –

do you listen to gossip? do you enjoy it? do you gossip? do you believe everything you hear about people and events or do you wait til you find out the truth yourself?

Chinese whispers

A little birdy told me so

Did you know?

This has happened just today!

Oh I say!

Well I’d have never have thought it true

And what just happened to you know who!

I’ll let you know

I’ll tell you why

Cos that birdy again might just drop by!

And tell me more news

You never know

It could be so

It’s true!

Through and through

Not a word of gossip for my ears

Just the words and wonder with a few tears

Don’t you hear things that people say

But does Chinese whispers get in the way!

Be careful to your friends what you uttter

For some, telling tales is like bread and butter!

Words get misconstrued

And misused

Our lives can be made to look so bad

By someone who is quite simply mad

Or mean

With a mind unclean

So don’t listen to what people say

Until the evidence is here to stay

People love to chit and chat about this and that

And that is that

Having a chat and that is that in Jill Adair’s art studio

I became interested in poetry about a year ago and try to write about things from my heart that are associated with events in my life or events going on in the World at large or closer to home. I have lost most of my eyesight in recent years to advanced glaucoma and my vision is now very limited I am finding my creativity now evolving in writing poetry and hope to publish my own book of verse in the future. I have a blog page on Wordpress where I share my poetry, art, photography, thoughts and favourite quotes and prayers at
